RESCUE! TrapStiks catch insects using VisiLure technology under a layer of sticky glue. We only want to catch insects, so we include glue guards with all outdoor TrapStiks.
We have two different versions of glue guards on store shelves right now, and that can be confusing!
The TrapStik itself is the same, but the glue guards install differently. Instructions for both glue guard versions are included here.
Installing the snap-on glue guards:
- Reach into the center of the TrapStik and pull out the glue guards.
- Tear open at perforated strip to expose the sticky surface.
*Try not to touch the sticky surface. Visit our pet safety page for glue removal tips.
- Remove twist tie from glue guards and set aside for hanging your TrapStik.
- Lay TrapStik on its side on a flat surface. Grasp inside of cap and use your thumb to snap the glue guard into the channels along cap edge. The opposite end snaps in the same way. Turn TrapStik and repeat on all six sides, snapping both ends of glue guards onto the outside of the caps.
- Thread twist-tie through the loops on either side of the cap to hang TrapStik.
Installing the tuck-under glue guards:
- Reach into the center of TrapStik and pull out the glue guards.
- Tear open TrapStik at perforated strip to expose the sticky surface.
*Try not to touch the sticky surface. Visit our pet safety page for glue removal tips.
- Remove twist tie from glue guards and set aside for hanging your TrapStik.
- Install glue guards one at a time. Tuck one end of the glue guard under the cap until it locks in place, then tuck the opposite end under the other cap. Repeat for all six sides.
- Thread twist-tie through the loops on either side of the cap to hang TrapStik.
