The RESCUE!® insect research lab extends well beyond the four walls of our headquarters. Our off-site insect research labs include vineyards, farms, golf courses, orchards, state parks and plain old residential backyards.

"In the field" is where our work both begins and ends. We observe and collect thousands of insects along with the natural plant materials surrounding them.

Back at RESCUE!® headquarters, our experts examine the insects and materials, coming up with concepts that our scientists can take back into the field for testing.

And there’s plenty of concepts we put to the test: different attractant formulas, all-natural repellents, trap designs, colors and visual patterns, and outdoor placement locations.

We count catches, identify species, and record results all season long -- and sometimes year after year -- until we get it right.

The result of our environmental endeavors is effective insect control that is friendly to both humans and the ecosystem.

Creating Smarter Pest Control

Sounds like an oxymoron — a contradiction in terms. Green means safe, healthy, eco-friendly and natural. And chemistry on the other hand is goggles, lab coats, Bunsen burners and toxic substances, right?

How we get our insect secrets

No one can assemble an insect focus group and ask what's most appealing to them. But with the tools in our RESCUE!® Insect Research Lab, we can discover exactly what makes the bugs respond.
