We are redesigning our TrapStik for Wasps to ensure safety for wildlife.
The RESCUE! insect research lab extends well beyond the four walls of our headquarters. Vineyards, farms, golf courses, orchards, state parks and plain old residential backyards -- all of these places function as our research labs as well.
The natural environment is where our work both begins and ends. In the field, we find thousands of insects along with the natural plant materials to which they might have a response. Back at RESCUE! Headquarters, our experts examine, analyze and synthesize… coming up with materials that our scientists can take back into the field to test.
And there’s plenty we put to the test: different attractant formulas, all-natural repellents, trap designs, colors and visual patterns, and outdoor placement locations. We count catches, identify species, and record results all season long -- and sometimes year after year -- until we get it right.
Sounds like an oxymoron — a contradiction in terms. Green means safe, healthy, eco-friendly and natural. And chemistry on the other hand is goggles, lab coats, Bunsen burners and toxic substances, right?
Our team of chemists and insect experts then begins the process of creating and testing attractant “recipes” that will be effective in luring insects, safe for humans and the environment and reproducible through our manufacturing processes.
